1. Behaviourism - Quiz-Based Learning Modules on Epidemiology
One of the challenges faced was ensuring that the quizzes didn't promote rote memorization. To overcome this, scenarios were incorporated into the questions to apply knowledge practically. The expected outcomes were improved recall and understanding of epidemiological concepts. The students showed a measurable improvement in quiz scores over time, which indicated that they had effectively learned the concepts.
2. Cognitivism - Interactive Digital Case Studies on Public Health Policies
One opportunity that was identified was the use of real-world scenarios in order to increase relevance. However, there was a challenge in ensuring that students actively engaged with the material, rather than just passively consuming it. As a result of these efforts, students demonstrated an increased ability to apply their theoretical knowledge to practical situations. Additionally, there was a notable improvement in their critical thinking and analytical skills.
3. Constructivism - Group Project on Community Health Assessment
One of the major challenges faced by the project was to ensure equal participation. However, the opportunity presented itself in the form of diverse viewpoints that could be leveraged for a more enriching learning experience. As an outcome, the project was successful in nurturing a deeper comprehension of the community's health needs and collaborative problem-solving skills among the participants. Moreover, it also helped the students to improve their ability to synthesize information from various sources.
